History of WorkerHealthCare at MedCenter

Work-related healthcare has been part of MedCenter since its inception more than 25 years ago.

Through the years, our program has continued to grow and change as the demands of area businesses and industry changed. For example, many years ago, drug and alcohol testing was not very common. Today, however, it is an important part of nearly all businesses.

Ergonomics is another area that has been introduced in the past several years. The concept of how you interact with your environment – the space you work in, the tools you use – while you are at work affecting your physical health, is a relatively new idea. Today, our team of physicians is trained to come into a work area, determine where there may be problems that affect employees and to offer suggestions as to how those problems may be addressed.
